We also went to the beach to enjoy the beautiful weather and just relax a little bit. Obviously we didn’t go to the one I talked about earlier, but one where you had to go for a fair long walk. The walk is worth it, as a nice day out at the beach is great and you certainly don’t want to be on any of the close-to-town beaches due to the toilet problem. The place we went to was beautiful even though we had to climb pretty high up a dune as we would have been sandblasted otherwise. This is a major problem about Fort Dauphin as it is always windy and walking along the beach had a sandblast-peeling included ^^. There is another beach on the other side of the town where the wind isn’t blowing as strongly, but therefor you have to walk through some more not so good and safe parts. You should never take any valuables with you to the beach and most other places as the chances to be robbed are pretty good. Nothing happened to us, but it is quite a common thing so rather leave everything in the hotel… they are pretty safe. And if you keep to that rule you can pretty much enjoy a nice day out at the beach… until the dreadlock fraction spots you. They then come up to you and try to sell drugs and offer music and crayfish. They talk and talk and talk and as they smoked too much of the stuff they are trying to sell they don’t realize that you really don’t want anything at all. This can be very annoying. So you have to decide what is more important to you… either you walk far, get sandblasted and an incredibly strong current, but noone is annoying you… or you don’t walk as far, have no wind and calm water, but get bugged by people all the time.
PS: I of course didn’t take any pictures, as I certainly didn’t want to risk loosing my camera.
