We arrived in Tana airport over an hour late and were glad that Jacques was there to pick us up. I am not exactly thrilled about Air France as you seem to always be late, the service is crappy and the personnel always in a bad mood. First of all we changed some money to be able to pay the taxi, hotel and things. I have never ever felt that rich before as I had a big bundle of money in my hand. Unfortunately it isn't too easy to hide that much money safely. The drive to our hotel took over an hour and was already a little adventure. There was heaps of dogs and zebu (a type of cattle) carts (charettes) on the street. A little scary that there are no light whatsoever so that you think that the driver should maybe slow down a bit. It was a good trip to prepare for the traffic in Madagascar. When we got to the hotel I managed to get a network with my mobile and called home to let Harry and my family know that I got there safely. Afterwards I quickly got ready for bed and tried to sleep. Outside dogs were barking loudly and without a stop. Our hotel was called Moonlight which is probably supposed to give it a romantic touch and cover up for that it's not exactly situated in a good area. I think it is a decent hotel for a fair price and if I ever get there again would go back as long as I am not alone to wander around in the area.
