Fort Dauphin is a very windy city… actually it feels more like a storm really. There is a beautiful looking bay and beach right in the middle of Fort Dauphin. If you look at it and ignore all the shipwrecks laying in the bay you could think it is one of those wonderful places that you see on postcards… just that those postcards never have any smell attached to them. The beach is basicly the public toilet! If you walk past it and you have to, to move around the city, an extremly strong wind is bringing the smell and sand up to the street. YUCK! Generally they do not have toilets really, they do their business where ever they are at the given point in time. Luckily the restaurants and hotels have toilets, maybe not the best ones and you should never ever get too close to them (exercise your leg muscles before you go there ^^), but they are ok… if they flush. I won’t tell you details about some of the ones I saw as I don’t want to gross you out. Let’s just say that you are happy when you are out in the bush, have a shovel and the bush toilet…

Yucky, yucky! The place sounds horrible, a complete contradiction from the photos.
